5 Hacks For A Positive Mindset

Lately with all of the negative news in the media life can feel overwhelming and hopeless. As a clinical Hypnotherapist I have learned a few tricks that will change the way you see life.

1- Examine your beliefs

Very often our negative beliefs keep us in a state of negativity. If we are feeling down it is most likely because we believe a story about our selves and life that is not entirely true. Take a deep look at your belief systems.  Do they support or empower you? Do you have limiting beliefs holding you back? Do you let the negative voices inside your head rule your life? By examining your beliefs you can begin to see what is holding you back and keeping you in a state of negativity. One of the ways to change your mindset is to look at your limiting beliefs and change them into empowering beliefs. Once you uncover the limiting belief you can change your beliefs by doing daily self declarations or affirmations.

2- Declarations and Positive Self Talk 

Language does not describe your reality it actually dictates it. What are you calling forth in your life? Declarations help you to shift your emotions into a more positive mindset. Stating declarations a few times a day can help retrain your mind to be more positive. Examples of declarations are: 

  • I now choose to see the good in every situation.

  • I now attract new opportunities for abundance every day.

  • My life is now filled with love and joy. Everyday just keeps getting better and better

3- Opportunity not Problems

Changing the way you see problems helps you to deal with it differently. Instead of seeing problems see them as challenges. Ask yourself if this problem were a challenge how would I go about it? What would I do? How can I use this challenge as an opportunity for growth? If we learn to see problems as opportunities we can now approach it differently and find real solutions that we may never have explored before.

4- Create a Vision for your life

Take time each day for at least 5-15 minutes and visualize the kind of life you want to live. Doing this consistently will train your subconscious mind to look for opportunities that will enhance your life. By focusing on what you want your life to be like you begin to take the necessary steps to move in that direction.

5- Surround Yourself with Positive People

Experts in the field of psychology have often said that you become the average of the people who surround you. That means if you surround yourself with successful people most likely you will become successful yourself. The same is true if you surround yourself with negative people who only bring drama to your life. You become more negative. Take a look at the people in your life; are they predominantly positive or negative? If you feel that you have more negative friends than you would like make room for people who inspire and support you. Go out and meet new people who are positive and motivate you to become a better person. You don't have to give up your old friends just spend less time with them. This is you taking care of yourself. By limiting negativity in your life it becomes easier  to develop a more positive mindset.

Your thoughts are very important. The more positive your thoughts are the better you will be able to handle challenges in life and the better your life will become.
